What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
What makes a photograph great varies from person to person. Photography is open to creative perception and is an art in its own right. Often it is the simplest image that can cause the most emotive response. Prior to my photography sessions I like to sit down with my client and get to know them a little better, this bond helps to build confidence when the session begins and gives my clients the opportunity to discuss what they are looking to achieve during their photography session.
What do I need to bring to a portraiture session?
Your most confident you
The most important and only thing that you must bring is your confident attitude. The best photos happen when you are at your most naturally confident best. Don't be afraid to act on impulse, pull a silly face, climb a tree, interact with me and the camera, doing so will truly capture your experience during the session.
A change of clothes
It is always a good idea to bring along a second outfit, this will allow you to change up your style, and this means you will have a more diverse selection of images to choose from after your portraiture session.
The touch up tools
A brush or comb, hand held mirror and make-up are not essential, but having these on hand to do a quick touch up before or during your portraiture session will help you to feel confident with your look and can give you the time to get in to the right mentality for your session.
